How to prepare a screen for testing
Clean the screen, use 100% browser zoom where possible, choose comfortable brightness, and move the browser to the monitor you want to inspect.
Dead and stuck pixel checks
Solid black, white, RGB, CMY, and gray fields make pixels that remain dark, bright, or the wrong color easier to notice.
Uniformity and backlight observations
Dark, gray, and white fields can reveal visible brightness or tint differences, but viewing angle, local dimming, and panel technology affect interpretation.
Gradient banding
Grayscale and RGB ramps help reveal visible steps or clipping across the complete browser-to-display pipeline; they cannot identify which part caused the result.
Geometry, sharpness, and scaling
Frames, grids, circles, lines, checkerboards, and text help inspect clipping and scaling. Browser zoom and operating-system scaling may change fine detail.
Not a calibration or certification tool
The test does not measure native resolution, color accuracy, gamut, HDR, refresh rate, response time, PWM, or input lag and does not provide a warranty verdict.
