What the tool counts
The counter measures words, characters, characters without spaces, lines, non-empty lines, paragraphs, estimated sentences, and reading or speaking time.
How words are counted
Modern browsers can segment words with Unicode-aware rules, which improves counting for Cyrillic, Arabic, accented Latin text, and many other scripts.
Unicode and emoji
Character counting prefers grapheme segmentation, so emoji and combined characters are handled more like visual characters instead of raw code units.
Sentence estimates
Sentence totals are approximate. Complex punctuation, abbreviations, and mixed-language text can change the result.
Privacy
All calculations stay on your device. The tool does not upload your text to a server.
